Yeah I'm not exaggerating.
I went as Andrew's +1 to his work event, a live-stream concert by Jencarlos Canela at Park West.
First of all, awesome venue. I definitely want to go back.
Second, I was absolutely not dressed properly and looked horrid.
Third, Jencarlos is really talented! His voice is beautiful. And so is his face.
He's an actor and musician. Women were SCREAMING with his every move.
Fourth, the only thing I understood at this event was the open bar.
Isn't it great how alcohol is the universal language of AWESOME?
Halfway through the concert someone walked up to me and said, "Hey, you're not Hispanic. What are you doing here?"
Ouch.
I'm enjoying myself, that's what I'm doing!!!
That person wasn't even invited! She waltzed in and crashed!
However, shortly after that strange encounter I was offered a meet and greet pass! It made me feel guilty because there were people at this concert who had waited to see him since 3 am. I admittedly never heard of him, but when someone tells me there's an open bar, free food, and a chance to meet a superstar I say OK.
I immediately started to think of topics of conversation. Obviously we were going to have a heart to heart and become best friends, so I wanted to be prepared for such an occasion.
However, after a few Guinni in my system I did not think of the most thought-compelling topics.
[By the way, I just made up that word for multiple pints of my dear friend Guinness. I have a feeling that word will catch on.]
Andrew said it wouldn't be a good idea to tell him that I wish that I spoke Spanish or ask him what products he uses in his hair. Oh well.
Instead I gave him a hug, told him he was amazing (honestly, he really was) and got a picture!
Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday.
